Day 31 - Journey

Well, I ventured to the scale again yesterday. Very anxious as always. It doesn't seem to matter how I feel and how good my clothes fit... I keep comparing my results to the loss in LBS. I know this is WRONG. My overall health is most important. My inches coming off is most important. The scale is NOTHING but a number. So I got on the scale and much to my dismay I weighed the same. All is good I have still lost 20lbs in 30 days. That is nothing to look down at. And I even did it with little variance from the Ultimate Body Makeover Plan here and there. But overall I am still satisfied. I feel awesome. So I took my measurements when i got home. This is where I now find my strength. In 30 days I have lost 9 inches of excess REAL estate. My chest has dropped 2 inches and my belly (Spare tire) has dropped 3 1/2 inches. I have also lost 2 inches off my upper arms and 1 1/2 off my hips. No wonder my clothes fit A LOT better! LOL. :) Anyway I am left smiling. I am encouraged to stay the course and these next two weeks I will try to not VARY as much. I am determined to SEE these inches FALL off. So for all you who are starting your journeys begin to take your measurements so you can see if you your efforts are truly working. NEVER rely on the scale. It is just a reference of weight.

Tip: When adding resistance training or weight training to your exercise regiment remember as you build muscle your muscle is a lot more dense so a 1lb of muscle takes up a lot less space than a 1lb of fat. So scales have there place for reference but measurements tell the real story.

I look forward to my next measurement and weigh in. December 16 - Here I come!

You're awesome babe!!! The difference is clear and people can see it. Inches really do matter, and you've lost both inches and pounds. SO PROUD OF YOU, and all the work you're putting into being a healthy husband and father.
