Leavin' Summer behind

Today was a very chilly day.  The leaves are beginning to cover my front yard. My daughter has been a little cooped up since fall set in.  We dug out some winter stuff and I was showing Aliyah some hats and gloves.  She decided to put them on then urgently and excitedly stated as she was backing down the stairs "Go outside?" I could not resist.  Of course, I said "yes" I got my coat and gloves on along with Aliyah and we ventured out and started raking a big pile of soft leaves to enjoy.  It really brought back memories of my childhood when all a couple friends would come over and rake leaves into the biggest pile we could make. Then proceed to run full on through them. Rough housing and throwing each other into the pile. Rake-Jump-Throw-Rake-Repeat.  Pretty simple recipe for fun.  The recipe hasn't changed in 20 years but the rules are a little different with a 2 year old.  She was jumping and running from across the yard. I love this little one called my daughter. Looking forward to more fun with leaves then we will graduate to snowman this winter.  I think she will love rolling snow balls.
